ONITSHA NORTH LGA MAYOR SURVIVES ATTACK DURING ROUTINE PATROL AS AGUNACHEMBA BOYS INTERVENE

Onitsha North LGA was thrown into tension when the Mayor, Hon. Nweze Tony Nwora was attacked while carrying out his routine patrol across the council area. The incident, which could have escalated into a major security threat, was swiftly handled by the Agunachemba Boys, a local security group known for their vigilance in maintaining peace and order in Onitsha North.
Eyewitnesses reported that unidentified assailants attempted to ambush the Mayor’s convoy, but their plans were immediately disrupted by the rapid response of the Agunachemba Boys, who overpowered them and restored peace.
The motive behind the attack remains unclear, but sources suggest it could be linked to ongoing efforts to rid the area of criminal elements.
Fortunately, Hon. Nwora emerged from the ordeal unscathed, with no reported injuries to him or his security team. Residents have since expressed relief that the situation was contained without any casualties or damage to property.
Reacting to the incident, Hon Nwora said he was attacked by some hoodlum and his security team did their best to repel the them. “I want to assure the people of Onitsha that I am safe and Onitsha is safe. I will always make sure that the security of Onitsha is paramount. I will not relent but continue to protect Onitsha to be the safe place to be,” he said.
He reaffirmed his dedication to making Onitsha North a safer place for residents and visitors alike and praised the Agunachemba Boys for their swift action, urging security agencies to intensify efforts in tracking down those responsible for the attack.
“We want to let everyone know that everything is under control and the security team is already working towards apprehending those hoodlums,” Mayor Nwora stated.
