NWORA JOINS FIREFIGHTERS TO CONTAIN PETROL TANKER FIRE IN ONITSHA

‎The Mayor of Onitsha North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Hon. Nweze Tony Nwora, on Sept 28 night joined firefighters and other emergency responders in containing a fire involving a petrol tanker at Pillars Energy Filling Station, Stock Exchange Bus Stop, Onitsha.

‎The incident occurred on Sept. 28, prompting the immediate deployment of firefighters to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby facilities and properties. The Anambra State Fire Service later confirmed that no life was lost in the incident.
‎
‎Nwora, who arrived at the scene during the emergency operation, joined the firefighting efforts and personally drove an available fire truck to the location. Firefighters and other emergency personnel were already working to contain the blaze when the Mayor joined the operation, helping to prevent further escalation of the incident.

‎The combined efforts of the emergency responders eventually brought the fire under control, while firefighters remained at the scene to conduct safety checks and monitor the area against possible re-ignition.
‎
‎Speaking on the incident, Nwora said the immediate priority was to contain the fire and protect lives and property. He commended the firefighters and other emergency responders for their prompt intervention and appreciated residents and others at the scene for cooperating with the emergency personnel.

‎The mayor said the incident underscored the importance of prompt emergency response and collective responsibility in safeguarding lives and property.
