The Catholic Bishop of Aguleri Diocese, Most Rev. Denis Chidi Isizoh, has celebrated a Mass of Thanksgiving with the minor seminarians of St. Paul’s Seminary, Igbariam, to mark the 41st anniversary of his priestly ordination.
The celebration, held on Sept. 27, also featured the official admission of newly enrolled Junior Secondary School One (JS1) seminarians into the seminary community. Bishop Isizoh vested the new seminarians with the seminary uniform, formally marking the commencement of their formation at the institution.
In his homily, the Bishop reflected on his own experiences as a junior seminarian, sharing the joys, challenges and successes he encountered during his years of formation. He encouraged the seminarians to remain committed to their formation, embrace the opportunities available to them and make productive use of their time in the seminary.

Bishop Isizoh also urged parents to play an active role in the formation of their children, particularly during holidays when the seminarians return home. He advised parents to involve their children in household responsibilities and other constructive activities that would instil discipline, humility and a sense of responsibility.
He appreciated the Rector, Very Rev. Fr. Hilary Nweke; Vice Rector, Rev. Fr. Christopher Edozie; Spiritual Director, Rev. Fr. Michael Okagbue; academic and non-academic staff; seminarians on apostolic work; parents; and the entire seminary community for their contributions to the growth of the institution.
A major highlight of the celebration was the presentation of prizes to seminarians who distinguished themselves academically and in character during the 2025/2026 academic year and cash gifts and scholarships to some outstanding seminarians as encouragement and motivation for others to strive for excellence.
