The Bishop of the Diocese of Ogbaru, Anglican Communion, Rt. Rev. Prosper A. Amah, has urged Christians to uphold the supremacy of God’s Word, strengthen their faith in Jesus Christ and remain committed to God’s service in preparation for eternity.
Amah gave the charge on Nov. 1, during his episcopal visit to St. James District Church Council (DCC) on the 22nd Sunday after Trinity, where he presided over a confirmation and admission service.

Members of the Boys’ Brigade welcomed the bishop with a guard of honour as part of activities marking the visit.
In his homily, Amah emphasised the supremacy of God’s Word and urged Christians to remain prayerful and seek God’s intervention in their lives.
He said Jesus Christ was the channel through which believers received from God, stressing that answered prayers required faith in Christ, confidence in God’s promises and a sound understanding of His teachings.

The bishop reminded the congregation that physical death was not the end of existence, noting that everyone would face eternity.
He urged Christians to follow Christ faithfully, serve God wholeheartedly and remain committed to the teachings and values of His kingdom.

Amah concluded the service with prayers for the congregation and encouraged them to remain steadfast in their Christian faith.
