The Vicar, St Paul’s Catholic Church, Akpo, Rev Fr Valentine Izuchukwu Nwankwo, has called for Proactivenes to hot weather being experienced this period, emphasizing that prevention is always better than cure.
He said this in a homily during special Mass to commemorate All Souls Day, at Agbelu Village Hall, Akpo, in Aguata Local Government Area, on November 2.
“The weather is indeed hot, the sun is scorching, thereby drying away water and other nutrients from our body. We need to shower often, stay in a well ventilated room or under tree while the sun is shining”, he said.

Fr Nwankwo acknowledged that people ought to make ends meet, yet urged those with avoidable place to go, to stay put to avert health challenges associated with hot weather.
“Fruits and vegetables intake with rejection of alcohol, cigarette smoking and other intoxicants could help sustain us within this harsh weather,” Fr Nwankwo added.
