The Anambra State Government has directed all non-governmental organisations (NGOs), foundations, civil society organisations and individuals involved in youth reformation and rehabilitation to register with the Office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth Reformation.

The directive, contained in a press release issued on Nov. 3, and signed by the Special Adviser, Dr. Nelson Omenugha, MNIPR, is aimed at creating a comprehensive and verifiable database of organisations and individuals working to transform young lives across the state.

According to the release, the database will help the government identify ongoing interventions, assess their areas of focus and strengthen coordination, collaboration and partnerships among stakeholders for more effective and sustainable outcomes.

The government emphasised that youth reformation requires collective action, involving public and private institutions, development partners, religious organisations, community leaders and civil society groups.

Organisations and individuals working in rehabilitation, character development, mentorship, leadership training, skills acquisition, vocational education, entrepreneurship, community engagement and behavioural transformation are particularly encouraged to participate.

Interested applicants are required to visit or contact the Office of the Special Adviser on Youth Reformation at Flat 9, Light House, Awka, and submit relevant details, including their contact information, operational locations, areas of intervention and evidence of ongoing activities.

The government stated that all submissions must be received on or before Nov. 30, stressing that the exercise would promote accountability, transparency and better coordination of youth focused interventions across the state.

The administration of Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, reaffirmed its commitment to developing responsible, productive, innovative and value driven young people capable of contributing meaningfully to the state’s development.

The government, therefore, called on all relevant stakeholders to comply with the directive and support efforts to build a coordinated and sustainable youth reformation framework in Anambra State.
