‎‎Chief Romanus Ezeonwuka, widely known as Ogilisi Igbo, hosted Muslim faithful to a peaceful and colourful Eid al-Adha celebration at Rojenny Games Village, Oba, in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
‎
‎The event brought together Muslim families, traditional leaders, residents, and visitors from various parts of the state. It featured prayers, the sharing of meals, and goodwill messages centered on peace, unity, and religious tolerance.
‎
‎Speaking at the gathering, Chief Ezeonwuka stated that the occasion was organized to strengthen peaceful coexistence among Nigerians, irrespective of ethnic or religious affiliations. He emphasized that meaningful national development could only be achieved when citizens respect one another’s beliefs and live in harmony.
‎

‎“We are all children of one God. Whether Christian or Muslim, what matters most is love, peace, and unity,” he said. “This celebration is intended to encourage togetherness among our people,” he added. Chief Ezeonwuka further noted that the Muslim community at Rojenny Games Village had remained peaceful and law-abiding over the years, stressing that every religion deserves equal respect and the freedom to worship.
‎
‎An Islamic leader, Imam Suleiman Abdulrahman, commended the traditional leader for his sustained support for Muslims residing in Oba.
‎“We are grateful for the love shown to us. Chief Romanus Ezeonwuka has consistently supported peaceful coexistence. Today’s celebration demonstrates that unity is achievable in Nigeria,” the Imam remarked.
‎
‎Alhaji Musa Ibrahim, another participant, described the atmosphere as welcoming and joyful. “We feel at home here. People of different faiths ate and celebrated together. This is the kind of peace Nigeria needs,” he stated.
‎
‎Youths who attended the event also commended the initiative, noting that such gatherings help reduce religious tension and foster friendship among communities.
‎
‎Miss Fatima Yusuf, a student, expressed optimism for a more united Nigeria. “When leaders promote peace in this manner, the younger generation learns to respect one another,” she said.
‎
‎The celebration featured special prayers for Nigeria, the exchange of goodwill messages, entertainment, and the sharing of meals among guests. Residents described the event as a symbol of religious harmony and cultural unity in Anambra State.
