The Anambra State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Arc. Okey Ezeobi has held a strategic meeting with the Ministry of Works Engineers, emphasizing the need for capacity building to enhance efficiency in project execution.
The meeting which was held in the Conference Hall of the Ministry on May 21, had the Permanent Secretary, Engr. Dr. Martin Agbili in attendance as well as the Director of Maintenance Department, Engr. Dr. Harold Eze, Director of Highways Department, Engr. Dr. Noel Okoye, Director of Planning, Design and Structure, Engr. Obiora Okafor and HOD Mechanical Department, Engr. Emeka Manafa, others.
The commissioner told the engineers to adhere to approved designs, plans and standards to guarantee road durability, emphasizing the need for test results to meet specified standards.
He appealed to the engineers to take issues of project supervision and documentation seriously, noting that the administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo has high regard for proper documentation to track progress and match work done with financial releases.
Arc. Ezeobi emphasized the need to develop a positive attitude to work by being punctual to work, imbibe a smart dressing culture, giving attention to details, and being safety conscious.
The commissioner instructed that henceforth, Mr. Governor must be aware of happenings in their various sites and as a result, they must be sending weekly reports to their Directors.
On his part, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Engr. Dr. Martin Agbili assured the Engineers readiness to work with him assiduously to achieve the Ministry’s mandate.
