TRCN INDUCTS COOU EDUCATION GRADUATES INTO TEACHING PROFESSION

TheTeachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) has inducted successful graduates of the Faculty of Education, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Igbariam Campus, into the teaching profession.

The induction ceremony, held on Sept. 10, featured the administration of the professional oath and marked the graduates’ formal entry into the profession.

The Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Uju Ughamadu, urged the inductees to uphold discipline, decency and professional ethics in the discharge of their duties.

Ughamadu described teaching as a noble profession and charged the new teachers to serve as role models to their students and contribute positively to society.

The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha, represented by Prof. O.B.C. Nwankwo, congratulated the inductees and urged them to uphold the values of the institution.

Nwankwo also charged them to remain good ambassadors of COOU and apply the knowledge and skills acquired during their training to the development of the education sector.

The TRCN Director-General, Dr Ronke Soyombo, who represented the Registrar, commended the university for its support for the professional development of teachers.

Soyombo administered the professional oath on the inductees and urged them to discharge their responsibilities with integrity, professionalism and commitment.

She emphasised that teaching required not only academic knowledge but also ethical conduct and dedication to the development of learners.

The TRCN Desk Officer, Dr S.O. Okafor, appreciated the university management, lecturers, inductees and TRCN officials for their contributions to the success of the ceremony.

The event was attended by the Anambra State Coordinator of TRCN, Dr Nneka Onyebuchi; Emeritus Coordinator, Lady Rosemary Otikpa; and members of the university community.

The Faculty President, Stephen Obidum, delivered the vote of thanks on behalf of the inductees.

The ceremony ended with celebrations by the inductees and lecturers.
