As political activities gather momentum ahead of the Anambra State House of Assembly elections, stakeholders within the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) have been urged to support Chief (Hon.) Paschal Uche Adilieje, popularly known as Ubom Power, as the party’s candidate for Onitsha South I Constituency.
In a statement issued by Oliver Okeke, also known as Don Olive, Ubom Power was described as a grassroots leader with the capacity to strengthen APGA’s dominance in Onitsha South and provide legislative support for Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s development agenda.
The statement noted that the political significance of Onitsha South requires the party to field a credible and widely accepted candidate capable of resisting opposition pressure and sustaining APGA’s influence in the area.
According to Okeke, Ubom Power has built strong connections with residents through community-focused initiatives, particularly his “Area Boy Connect” programme, which he said has positively impacted youths, traders, informal workers, and market communities across the constituency.
“Ubom Power is not an armchair politician but a tested grassroots mobiliser whose leadership style is rooted in direct engagement with the people and practical empowerment initiatives,” the statement read.
The statement further described him as a loyal party member whose experience, accessibility, and commitment to development align with Governor Soludo’s vision for a peaceful and prosperous Anambra State.
Okeke also highlighted Ubom Power’s interest in environmental sustainability and youth empowerment, noting that his legislative agenda would focus on economic growth, infrastructure development, and inclusive policies aimed at improving living standards in Onitsha South.
He argued that presenting a strong and popular candidate like Ubom Power would enhance APGA’s chances of securing victory in the constituency while reinforcing political stability needed for effective governance in the state.
Calling on party stakeholders and supporters to unite behind the aspirant, Okeke maintained that the forthcoming election presents an opportunity for APGA to reaffirm its grassroots strength and commitment to progressive leadership.
He added that the people of Onitsha South deserve a representative with the capacity to connect with the grassroots, deliver tangible development, and effectively represent the interests of the constituency in the State House of Assembly.
