The Anambra State Government, under the leadership of Gov. Chukwuma Soludo, has continued to implement wide-ranging reforms aimed at improving the quality of education across the state.
A major aspect of the reforms is the recruitment of teachers to bridge the long-standing shortage of personnel in public primary and secondary schools, thereby enhancing teaching and learning.
To modernise the education system, the Soludo administration introduced the Anambra Smart Education initiative, which is driving the digital transformation of classrooms across the state.
The programme involves the distribution of tablets, deployment of e-learning content, and provision of internet connectivity to public schools, with the goal of making every public school a smart school where students can learn through technology.
The administration has also sustained free education in public primary and junior secondary schools, while abolishing unauthorized levies in senior secondary schools to make education more accessible and affordable for families.
In addition, scholarship opportunities have been expanded to support indigent but academically outstanding students, ensuring that financial constraints do not prevent deserving learners from achieving their educational goals.
The state has also encouraged academic excellence through competitions in subjects such as Mathematics and English Language, with Anambra students recording impressive performances in national contests.
To further improve educational standards, the Ministry of Education has strengthened its monitoring and evaluation systems by introducing regular school inspections, teacher attendance tracking, and performance assessments to enhance accountability and ensure the delivery of quality education across the state.
