Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has joined other prominent Nigerians in celebrating the Onyido Royal Family of Ogidi on the successful solemnisation of the marriage between Princess Susan Onyido and Mr. Oliver Nnadi in Abuja on Aug. 29.
The colourful wedding ceremony, held at the Holy Cross Catholic Church, Gwarimpa, Abuja, attracted dignitaries from across the country, who gathered to celebrate the union of the two families.
Governor Chukwuma Soludo was represented at the occasion by the Head of the Five Star Group, Chief Emeka Okonkwo (E-Money), and his wife. Their presence underscored the importance the governor attached to the occasion, as well as the cordial relationship between the Anambra State Government and the Onyido Royal Family.
Among other distinguished personalities at the ceremony were the Labour Party Senatorial Candidate for Anambra Central, Ven. Tochukwu Sagacious Ikezue; the serving Senator representing Anambra North, Dist. Sen. Dr. Tony Nwoye, who is also the NDC Senatorial Candidate for Anambra North, as well as captains of industry and other notable guests.
Delivering the homily, Rev. Fr. Alloysius Agbah urged the newly married couple to build their home on Christ, prayer and sound Christian values. According to him, a marriage founded on faith, love, understanding and commitment would be better equipped to withstand the challenges of life and remain a source of joy to both families.
One of the highlights of the ceremony was the presentation of the Executive Governor’s Address by Chief Emeka Okonkwo to the father of the bride, His Royal Majesty, Igwe Alex Onyido, JP, Eze Ogidi. The presentation further highlighted the goodwill and support of the Soludo administration towards the Onyido Royal Family and the memorable occasion.
The wedding was described as a celebration of love, faith, family and culture, bringing together Ndi Ogidi, Ndi Anambra and well-wishers from different walks of life.
The occasion also provided an opportunity to celebrate the enduring values of family, community and responsible leadership, which the Soludo administration continues to promote in Anambra State.
