The Rotary Club of Awka Urban, in collaboration with RAC Orumba Municipal, RAC GRA, RAC Smithtown, the Interact Club of Dormition of Mary College Nanka, and in partnership with ASP Chinese Company and EO Chinedu Drilling Venture, have installed a solar-powered borehole for the Ndigbu Community in Otolo, Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The project was officially handed over to the community by the Rotary organizations and their partners.

The community, through its leaders, expressed immense gratitude for the transformative development.
According to Mrs. Monica Ndile, this is one of the best and most impactful projects in our community because the lack of good water has been a major challenge. We sincerely appreciate the Rotary community and their partners for this kind gesture.
Another indigene, Mr. Okeke Simeon, recalled the difficulties the community has experienced due to the lack of water and commended the Rotary organization for their selfless gesture.
Furthermore, Dr. Afamnede Oguechuo said that the project is significant because it has put an end to the long-standing issue of water scarcity in the community. Most importantly, the project eliminates the need for electricity to pump water, as it is powered by solar energy.
Rev. Sr. AG Yves Mary Virginia Obi PHF Zone 13 expressed her excitement in the completion of the project and encouraged the Rotary members to hold on to rotary values which include the spirit of benevolence.
The president, Rotary Club Awka Urban, Dr Casmir Obiakor, also expressed his fulfillment on the project, citing it as a noble act of kindness.
