An Obstetrician Gynae Oncologist, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching hospital Nnewi campus, Prof. Osita Umeononihu has applauded the re- appointment of Dr. Afam Obidike as the state Commissioner for Health by Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
In a congratulatory press statement issued in Awka, Prof. Umeononihu described the Health Commissioner as an unassuming tested and trusted medical expert who keeps an open door policy.
According to the medical practitioner, his re- appointment is justifiable given the impact he made in strengthening the primary healthcare delivery and improving the ambulance emergency services in the state.
Other advances Dr. Obidike made in the health sector according to Prof. Umeononihu include, the implementation of the free antenatal and post natal services in the state public hospitals, ensuring the smooth running of the state health insurance scheme, the rehabilitation of general hospitals in the state, among other reforms in the health sector.
He urged the commissioner to redouble his efforts in the second lap of his stewardship by ensuring that all vital aspects of health are given unfettered attention.
He wished him the best as he pilots the affairs of the health sector in the state.
