The newly appointed Commissioner for Power and Water Resources in Anambra State, Engr. Casmir Agummadu, has charged staff of the ministry to embrace teamwork, dedication, and excellence in service delivery in order to achieve the developmental goals of the state government.
Engr. Agummadu made the call while addressing the management team of the ministry in his office in Awka.
The commissioner urged staff members to work together as a united team, stressing that cooperation and commitment are essential for achieving meaningful progress in the ministry.
He assured the workers that his office would remain open to new ideas and constructive suggestions that would enhance productivity and improve results.
Engr. Agummadu also emphasized the importance of excellence and productivity in public service, stating that he strongly believes in achieving greater results whenever a task is assigned.
He advised staff of the ministry to always strive for outstanding performance and quality results in the discharge of their duties.
Speaking on his experience in the power sector, the commissioner noted that although he has spent over ten years in the power business, learning remains a continuous process.
According to him, knowledge has no end, and continuous improvement is necessary for growth and development.
He further stressed the importance of stable electricity supply in driving economic development, noting that Governor Soludo’s vision of transforming Anambra into a livable and prosperous mega city cannot be achieved without adequate power infrastructure.
According to him, businesses can only thrive in an environment with steady electricity supply, adding that as “the Light of the Nation,” Anambra State must prioritize reliable power to sustain economic growth and industrial development.
Engr. Agummadu pledged to deploy his wealth of experience and work diligently to bring positive changes to the ministry, while also appealing for maximum cooperation and support from members of staff.
Earlier in his remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Power and Water Resources, Mr. Victor Ezekwo, welcomed the new commissioner and assured him of the ministry’s full support.
Mr. Ezekwo promised that the management team would work in synergy with the+ commissioner by providing the necessary information, ideas, and cooperation needed to reposition the ministry for greater efficiency and productivity.
