The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Women and Social Welfare, Mrs. Chinwe Achugbu has pledged the loyalty and full support of the ministry’s management and staff to the newly appointed Commissioner, Mrs. Esther Chinyere Onyekesi.
In her welcome address during the arrival of the new commissioner, Mrs. Achugbu congratulated Onyekesi on her appointment and described it as a deserved recognition of her experience, leadership and commitment to the welfare and empowerment of women, children, the elderly and other vulnerable groups.
“Your appointment is a clear testament to your wealth of experience, leadership capacity, dedication to public service and commitment to the welfare and empowerment of women, children, elderly and vulnerable groups in society,” the statement said.
Mrs. Achugbu noted that Onyekesi’s tenure as APGA Women leader has prepared her to lead inclusively and ensure people‑oriented, impactful policies. She expressed confidence that the commissioner’s experience and leadership style will bring renewed strength, foster innovation, unity and progress within the ministry.
“We warmly welcome you to the Ministry and assure you of our loyalty, cooperation and willingness of your staff to support your vision and work harmoniously with you in advancing the mandate of the Ministry,” the Permanent Secretary added.
She prayed for God’s guidance, wisdom and strength for Onyekesi, and hopes that her tenure will produce fruitful and impactful achievements for women, children, the elderly and vulnerable groups across the state.
