In furtherance to the Anambra State urban regeneration programme across the Nnewi metropolis, the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development launches “Operation show your Physical Planning permits” as it insists on two-week shanties removal deadline in Nnewi.
Making this known to newsmen on June 10, at the Emecourt space cleared for the purpose of urban regeneration, the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Bar. Chijioke Ojukwu stated that the government has resolved to take back all the encroached spaces especially at the market parks and walk ways with illegal occupants.
According to him” Sanity must be restored in our system, all encroached markets and spaces must be recovered”
Stating examples from Ekwulobia that have witnessed massive regeneration., well coordinated parking space for motorist and commuters
The Physical Planning team led by Bar. Ojukwu served several removal notice and marking of illegal structures that have not met with the physical planning standard of operation.
Nkwo Market, Nnamdi Azikiwe Teaching Hospital Permanent Site, Akamili and Uruagu axis are part of the locations covered by the team.
The urban regeneration plans of Mr Governor have come to stay, the citizens are implored to support the agenda for the benefit of all.
