Residents of Onitsha North Local Government Area have continued to participate actively in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Registration Centre located within the Onitsha North Local Government Secretariat.
Speaking during an interview at the registration centre on June 23, Mr. Jude Ugwu said he made time from his busy business activities to register, stressing the importance of participating in the democratic process.
According to him, every eligible citizen has a responsibility to vote and contribute to the selection of leaders capable of advancing national development.

Also speaking, Mr. Cletus Onah described the registration exercise as orderly and transparent. He noted that the process was free and largely unaffected by network challenges.
Mr. Onah appealed to the relevant authorities to consider extending the registration period to enable more eligible residents who are yet to register to take part in the exercise.
Also, Miss Chinwe Nweke acknowledged that occasional network disruptions occur during registration but advised prospective registrants to complete the online pre-registration process before visiting the centre to facilitate a faster and more convenient experience.
She further encouraged eligible voters, particularly youths and first-time voters, to utilise the remaining registration period and avoid last-minute rush.
The ongoing Continuous Voter Registration exercise is expected to conclude in the first week of August, as electoral officials continue efforts to attend to the increasing number of residents seeking to register or update their voter records.
