Residents of Okpoko Ward 5, particularly in the Mpkikpa Axis of Ogbaru Constituency I, have lauded Hon. Stephen Nnaemezie, popularly known as Ohamadike, for organizing a comprehensive fumigation exercise in the community.
The sanitation initiative, conducted on Saturday, May 9, targeted gutters, drainage channels, and surrounding residential areas. The exercise was aimed at curbing the spread of mosquitoes, rodents, and other disease-causing pests ahead of the rainy season.
Community leaders, including the President-General of Okpoko Mpkikpa, former and serving councillors, and residents, described the intervention as timely and impactful. In a joint statement, the stakeholders commended Hon. Nnaemezie as a responsive and compassionate leader who continues to demonstrate genuine concern for the welfare of his constituents.
Residents said the exercise had provided much-needed relief to households that had long grappled with offensive odours, mosquito infestation, and flooding caused by blocked drainage systems.
They reaffirmed their support for Hon. Nnaemezie and urged him to sustain his efforts toward improving living conditions in the area.
