‎The Okpoko Landlord Association has reconciled after years of internal division, heralding a new phase of peace, unity, and cooperation among landlords in the community.
‎
‎The reconciliation meeting, held on June 5, was led by the Chairman of the Association, Chief Ikechukwu Okweji, whose efforts alongside his executive team brought together stakeholders who had previously operated on different platforms.
‎


‎The event attracted notable personalities, including former member of the House of Representatives for Ogbaru Federal Constituency, Hon. Chukwuka Wilfred Onyema; member representing Ogbaru I Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Chukwunonso Noble Igwe; former lawmakers, Hon. Linus Ezenwamma and Hon. Benson Nwawulu; as well as the President General of Okpoko Community, Hon. Sir Charles Ezeokafor.

‎A major highlight of the occasion was the presentation of Merit Awards to distinguished sons and stakeholders of Okpoko in recognition of their contributions to the growth and development of the community.
‎


‎Among the awardees were Sir Patrick Umeorjiako, Sir Isaac Onyenekwe, Hon. Chukwuka Wilfred Onyema, Hon. Chukwunonso Noble Igwe, Sir Charles Ezeokafor, Hon. Afam Ogene, Sen. Tony Nwoye, Sir B.S.C. Muofunanya, and Sir Patrick Emefo, among others.

‎In his address, Chief Okweji described the reconciliation as a collective resolve to rebuild trust, promote accountability, and work collaboratively for the advancement of Okpoko. He urged landlords to embrace unity and prioritize community interest above personal differences.
‎
‎The Chairman also appealed to government officials, political leaders, and stakeholders to support the association’s request for a befitting Community Hall. He noted that the proposed facility would serve as a hub for meetings, youth empowerment programmes, conflict resolution, civic engagements, and other community-oriented activities.
‎


‎Speaking on behalf of the awardees, Hon. Chukwuka Wilfred Onyema commended the association’s leadership for achieving reconciliation after years of discord. He described the development as a victory for the entire community and urged landlords to sustain the spirit of unity for greater progress.
‎
‎Hon. Chukwunonso Noble Igwe expressed appreciation for the reconciliation and assured the association of his continued support for initiatives aimed at improving residents’ welfare and advancing the development of Okpoko.
‎
‎Similarly, the President General of Okpoko Community, Sir Charles Ezeokafor, expressed gratitude for the honour accorded him. He commended the association for prioritizing peace, emphasizing that unity among stakeholders is critical to attracting meaningful development projects, including the proposed Community Hall.
‎
‎Other participants described the reconciliation as a significant milestone towards strengthening cohesion and accelerating development in the Okpoko community.
