The Bishop on the Niger, Rev. Owen Chiedozie Nwokolo, has charged Christians to continually depend on the guidance of the Holy Spirit to function effectively as children of God.
The Bishop gave the charge during a Confirmation and Admission Service held at St. Peter’s Parish, Oyi Central Archdeaconry, Awkuzu, where he officiated and ministered to the congregation.

In his homily, Bishop Nwokolo admonished the newly confirmed candidates, inductees into various church organizations, and the entire congregation to remain sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit in their daily lives and Christian journey.
He underscored the importance of deploying one’s time, talents, and treasures, which he termed the “3 Ts”, for the glory and pleasure of God. He noted that faithful stewardship remains an essential requirement of Christian living.

The Diocesan also cautioned against actions and omissions capable of bringing disrepute, shame, and destruction to individuals and the body of Christ. He urged worshippers to embrace Jesus Christ wholeheartedly and live according to His statutes, reflecting the light, character, and values of God’s Kingdom in all spheres of life.
The Bishop also dedicated a newly constructed school pathway donated by the Mgbike family in honour and memory of their late matriarch, Ezinne Mercy Mgbechijinyem Mgbike, 1935–2025. The dedication served as a tribute to the life and legacy of the deceased and highlighted the family’s contribution to educational development and community service through the provision of the infrastructure.

The service drew the presence of clergy, church workers, family members, parishioners, and well-wishers who gathered to witness both the spiritual ceremony and the dedication of the memorial project.
