The Okpeze Community on July 2, expressed readiness to work closely with the Commissioner for Local Government and Community Affairs, Chief Vin Ezeaka, to advance grassroots development across Anambra State.

In a press statement issued in Awka on behalf of the community, the Traditional Prime Minister, Chief Donatus Nwafor, said the resolve was reached by the traditional ruler, Igwe Innocent Onwumere, the Igwe-in-Council, and members of the Okpeze Community.

He affirmed their commitment to cooperate with the state government to ensure equitable distribution of the dividends of democracy in the community.

Chief Nwafor commended Chief Ezeaka for his competence and mature handling of town union matters since assuming office.

According to him, the commissioner’s approach has restored stability in several town unions across the state.

He urged the commissioner to remain focused and resist distractions, particularly acts of sycophancy intended to derail him from performing his legitimate duties.

The traditional prime minister also commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for appointing Chief Ezeaka to serve the state, describing the appointment as well-deserved.
