The Mayor of Awka South Local Government Area(LGA), Prince Chinedu Okafor, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and greater participation of Persons With Disabilities (PWDs).
Okafor made the commitment through the Supervisor for Finance, Hon. Okechukwu Agumadu, during an interactive meeting with the Joint National Association of Persons Living with Disabilities (JONAPWD), Awka South Chapter, on Aug. 22.
He assured the group that his administration would continue to support PWDs through inclusion, empowerment and skills acquisition programmes.
The mayor urged members to participate in the Aug. 29 Local Government election, while reaffirming plans to expand opportunities for PWDs in the LGA.
The meeting strengthened collaboration between the local government and the disability community, with both sides expressing commitment to building a more inclusive Awka South.
