The Anambra Commissioner for Education, Dr. Ekene Ogugua, has congratulated Governor Chukwuma Soludo and the people of the state on Anambra’s nine awards at the 2026 President’s Teachers’ and Schools’ Excellence Awards.

Anambra won nine of the 18 categories contested nationally at the ceremony held on Oct. 5, at Eagle Square, Abuja, as part of activities marking the 2026 World Teachers’ Day.
Ogugua, in a congratulatory message, described the feat as a testament to the progress recorded in the state’s education sector.

He congratulated Soludo, the award recipients, teachers, school administrators, pupils and other stakeholders in the education sector on the achievement.
The commissioner said the recognition reflected the commitment and efforts of stakeholders toward improving educational standards and promoting excellence in teaching and learning.

Ogugua said the achievement would further encourage educators in the state to remain committed to excellence and contribute to the continued development of the education sector.
“The work continues. Together, we will keep raising the standard of education in Anambra State,” he said.
The President’s Teachers’ and Schools’ Excellence Awards is an annual Federal Government initiative that recognises outstanding teachers, school administrators and schools for exceptional performance, innovation, professionalism and contributions to educational development.
The awards are presented as part of activities marking World Teachers’ Day, which celebrates the contributions of teachers to society and highlights the importance of the teaching profession.
