The Mayor of Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State, Hon. Sir Kenneth Akwuobi, has pledged total cooperation and support to the newly posted Area Commander, ACP Temitope Fasugba, psc.
The Mayor made the pledge through his Chief of Staff, Hon. Nwaobasi Okwu, during the familiarisation tour of the new Area Commander to Okpoko Police Station on Wednesday , May 13.
Hon. Akwuobi also urged residents of Onitsha and its environs to cooperate fully with the new Area Commander, noting that such support would help strengthen security and improve safety in the area.
While thanking God for the gift of life and for the strength given to officers of the Nigeria Police Force in protecting lives and property, the Mayor commended the courage, competence, and professionalism of ACP Fasugba, which, according to him, contributed to his rise in the Force.
He further acknowledged ACP Fasugba’s cordial relationship with people from different backgrounds and praised his commitment to maintaining peace, law, and order without tribal sentiment.
The Mayor also expressed appreciation for the leadership qualities and operational capacity demonstrated by the Divisional Police Officer of Okpoko Community Police Division, SP Austin Okafor.
He described SP Okafor as a humble, responsible, and experienced officer whose contributions to community policing have been remarkable.
“We are always ready to support SP Austin Okafor and his team to ensure effectiveness and consistency in protecting lives and property in our dear community, Okpoko and Ogbaru Constituency I,” he said.
The event attracted several dignitaries, including community leaders, stakeholders, market presidents-general, youth leaders, members of POWA, security operatives such as Udogachi and Agunechemba, as well as other well-wishers.
