The wife of the Anambra State Governor and founder of the Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative, Dr. Nonye Soludo, has called for increased investment in the girl child, describing it as critical to building a healthier, more prosperous and sustainable society.

Mrs. Soludo made the call in a message shared on the official Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Facebook page, where she underscored the importance of empowering girls through mentorship, healthy living and purposeful guidance.

She said every conversation and learning opportunity should inspire positive choices, promote healthy lifestyles and encourage girls to pursue their dreams with confidence, purpose and resilience.

According to her, investing in the education, health and personal development of girls equips them with the confidence, skills and resilience needed to become responsible leaders and productive contributors to society.

She noted that empowering the girl child goes beyond providing access to education, stressing the need to instil sound values, encourage healthy living and create opportunities for personal growth.

Mrs. Soludo urged parents, teachers, community leaders and other stakeholders to play active roles in mentoring and supporting girls to enable them realise their full potential.

She reaffirmed the commitment of the Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative to championing programmes that promote healthy living, youth development and the overall well being of children across Anambra State.

The governor’s wife added that the initiative complements the Soludo administration’s human capital development agenda and its commitment to empowering young people as drivers of sustainable development in the state.
