Residents of Achina Community in Aguata Local Government Area have welcomed a significant boost to public health and infrastructure following the commissioning and handover of a newly constructed abattoir, water facility and public convenience at Orie market.
The event was marked by excitement and gratitude from community leaders, market women, and residents who are set to benefit directly from the new facilities.
In his speech during the event, the Mayor of Aguata Local Government Area, Dr Chibueze Oforbuike emphasized that the projects are expected to improve hygiene standards, enhance access to clean water and provide a more conducive trading environment within the ever busy market.

Special commendation was given to the Councillor representating Achina Ward 1, Hon. Chukwudi Ezeanyim, whose dedication and commitment were instrumental in bringing the projects to fulfilment.
Community members described the development as timely and impactful, expressing optimism that it will contribute to improve livelihoods and overall well being.
The ceremony attracted several dignitaries, including the member representing Aguata 1 constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Anayo Okpalaeke, president General of Achina, Hon. Tony Ezenwata, former chairman of Aguata LGA, Chief Titus Anagbogu, and the Chairlady of Umuada Achina, Lady Grace Obieli. Also in attendance were councillors and other key stakeholders.
The successful delivery of the project reinforced a shared vision for growth and development across Aguata LGA with stakeholders reaffirming their beliefs that indeed ” impossibility is nothing.
