‎The Anambra State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on July 30 decorated 57 newly promoted officers during a colourful ceremony held at the Command’s Operational Base in Onitsha, Anambra State.
‎
‎
‎The event attracted principal officers of the command, family members, friends, and well-wishers, as the officers were formally decorated with their new ranks in recognition of their dedication, professionalism, commitment, and meritorious service to the Agency.
‎
‎
‎Addressing the officers, the State Commander, CN Onubogu Charles Orakwue, described the promotion as both a reward for outstanding performance and a call to greater responsibility. He urged the newly promoted personnel to uphold the highest standards of discipline, integrity, and professionalism while remaining resolute in the fight against drug abuse and illicit drug trafficking.
‎
‎

‎CN Orakwue noted that the promotion exercise underscores the commitment of the Chairman and Chief Executive of the NDLEA, Mohamed Buba Marwa, to staff welfare, motivation, and institutional reforms.
‎
‎
‎According to him, promotion exercises have become regular and timely under the current leadership, a development he said has significantly boosted the morale of officers and improved operational efficiency across the Agency.
‎
‎
‎He added that the prompt advancement of deserving officers reflects the Chairman’s resolve to reward excellence, diligence, professionalism, and dedicated service, while strengthening the Agency’s capacity to combat substance abuse and illicit drug trafficking nationwide.
‎
‎

‎Speaking on behalf of the newly promoted officers, one of the beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the NDLEA Chairman and the Agency’s management for prioritising the welfare and career progression of personnel through regular promotions.
‎
‎
‎The officers also commended the Anambra State Commander for his exemplary leadership, mentorship, and unwavering support, pledging to justify the confidence reposed in them by remaining loyal, disciplined, and committed to the Agency’s mandate of protecting society from the dangers of illicit drugs.
‎
‎
‎The ceremony concluded with the decoration of officers across various cadres, marking another significant milestone in the professional development of personnel within the Anambra State Command.
