The parish priest of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Oroma-Etiti Anam in Anambra West LGA, Rev Fr Emmanuel Isidienu has advised women all over the world to emulate Blessed Virgin Mary in raising good homes.

He gave the advice during the 2026 Mothers’ Sunday celebrations at the parish

” I’m greatful for the gift of motherhood to the world. I advise mothers to be humble, caring and respectful to raise good homes. Therefore, they should emulate the model of our Blessed Mother Mary in humility and obedience to the will of God in raising good homes”, Fr Isienu said

Secretary of St Kizito Denary, Aguleri Diocese, Mrs Theresa Agbata, advised women to support their husbands in raising their children.

“Whether your husband has money or not, stay strong at raising your children because they are your future hope. The responsibility of bringing money to raise children does not lie on the husband alone. That is why we advise young mothers to have something doing to be able to support their husbands in raising their children”, Agbata said.

President of the Catholic Women Organization (CWO) of Holy Cross Catholic Church Oroma-Etiti Anam, Mrs Uche Ubakasi, explained that CWO members all over the world wear same style of uniform so that both the rich and the poor will be able to afford it.

She said that white maternal was not an expensive cloth so they chose it so that women will not be committing evil in order to afford the uniform.

She said women were very important in every family.

“Any family you enter and there is no mother there, you will notice it. Because women are so important in running a good family.

“We call the style of uniform we wear to our events “shovel’ or “Shanfa” and it is white. We believe that every mother can afford the white because it is not expensive.

“In the olden days, women wear all sorts of expensive clothes to August meeting making women from poor family to sleep with other men in order to afford expensive clothes. That is why Catholic bishops decided that CWO members must be wearing same uniform”, Ubakasi said

An elderly CEO member, Mrs Theresa Okeke advised young mothers to identify with the Catholic Church and participate in CWO activities and shun paganism.

Mrs Elizabeth Nnose, Mrs Elizabeth Anekwe, Mrs Grace Okoye, Mrs Ezechukwu Okeke among other CWO members noted that mothers were so important in every family.
