The Ministry of Health, Anambra State has held a routine quarterly meeting with all the Heads of Government owned Hospitals in the state to discuss ways of fine-tuning healthcare duties/services in their Facilities.
The well attended meeting held at the Ministry of Health Conference Hall, Jerome Udoji Secretariat on Thursday, June 11 was chaired by the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Afam Obidike dwelt extensively on keeping the health facilities in the best form with the aim of improving the health care delivery of the Doctors and other Health workers.

While welcoming the participants the commissioner said that the state cannot thank the Doctors well enough for their humanitarian duties yet urged them to do more to justify the high position the state is maintaining in the provision of medical care among the states of country.
He bemoaned cases of non-availability of Health workers in the hospitals at any given time and warned that lapses would be heavily visited and punished.
The Director, State Hospital Management Board Dr. Afam Ifeaneme while welcoming the Doctors also urged them to give their best so as to make Anambra State proud.

The Director, Medical Services, Dr. Ugochukwu Chukwulobelu, urged the Doctors to leverage on the state provided services to attract people and to generate the expected funds to their Facilities.
He said the State Free Ambulance services should be made more active and more operational by introducing it to the people in their localities and assisting them to make use of the emergency call numbers of 5111.
Also at the meeting was the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Obiageli Uchebo who urged the Heads of Hospitals to remind other health workers working with them to maintain clear clocking in and out on a daily basis to avoid losing their salaries due to the ongoing checks on absenteism cum lateness to work.
