Emotions ran high as members of the Ladies of St. Mulumba, Iba Pope Sub-Council, Awada Quarter, paid a charity visit to the Onitsha Correctional Centre, donating relief materials and offering words of encouragement to inmates.
The humanitarian outreach was aimed at supporting and uplifting the spirits of inmates at the facility. The delegation was led by the Noble President, Dr. Lady C. Ejidike, and was received by Rev. Fr. Bartho Okpalaugo, who oversees the spiritual welfare of the inmates.

During the visit, the group presented several welfare items, including five cartons of sanitary pads, five rolls of tissue paper, ten coolers of rice, toothbrushes, toothpaste, slippers, cash, and other essential supplies to meet the daily needs of the inmates.
Speaking after the presentation, Lady Onyinye Anugwo commended Rev. Fr. Bartho Okpalaugo for his dedication and selfless service to the inmates. She described his work as a true act of love and compassion for humanity.

In his response, Fr. Bartho expressed gratitude to the Ladies of Iba Pope Sub-Council for their generosity, noting that their support came at a time of economic hardship. He prayed for God’s blessings upon the donors and urged other well-meaning Nigerians to remember inmates through acts of kindness.

Dr. Lady C. Ejidike, Leader of the delegation, called on privileged Nigerians and charitable organizations to continue supporting inmates and other vulnerable groups through humanitarian services and acts of compassion.
