The Anambra State Commissioner for Information and Value Reformation, Dr. Law Mefor, has reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with Kpakpando Media FM 101.9, describing the station as a progressive media organisation contributing meaningfully to information dissemination in the state.
Dr. Mefor gave the assurance when the management of Kpakpando Media FM paid him a courtesy visit at his office in the Jerome Udoji Secretariat, Awka on June 25.
The Commissioner noted that the cordial relationship between the station and the state government has remained strong over the years and expressed confidence that the partnership would continue to flourish for the benefit of Ndi Anambra.
Commending the station for its professionalism, Dr. Mefor observed that some reports generated by Kpakpando Media FM have been useful to the government in the discharge of its responsibilities.
Speaking on the ministry’s media engagement strategy, he disclosed that he currently anchors three flagship radio programmes, including the popular “Ask the Commissioner” programme. He invited Kpakpando Media FM to join the initiative, explaining that plans are underway to expand the programme to five radio stations to enhance its reach through scheduled broadcasts and rebroadcasts.
According to him, partnering with media organisations is vital to keeping residents informed about government activities, stressing that the achievements of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration are evident and speak for themselves.
Dr. Mefor further explained that the mandate of the Ministry of Information and Value Reformation extends beyond information dissemination to strategic communication aimed at promoting positive attitudes and behavioural change. He said the value reformation component was introduced to help redirect societal values, particularly among young people, by encouraging hard work, decency and responsible living.
He also highlighted the objectives of the Anambra Homeland Security Law, noting that the government is committed to discouraging criminality, idolatry and the pursuit of quick wealth through unlawful means, while promoting moral values and productive lifestyles.
Earlier, the Deputy General Manager of Kpakpando Media FM, Mr. Franklin Anyaarogbu, said the visit was aimed at strengthening the station’s relationship with the state government to enhance public awareness of government programmes and achievements.
In a vote of thanks, Miss Bekee Ebele expressed appreciation to the Commissioner for receiving the delegation and accepting to partner more closely with the station.
