Mrs. Lilian Ezenwaka, Acting Director of the Agency for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education, led her team on June 24, to learning centres in Isuofia, Aguata Local Government Area.
The delegation received a warm welcome at the Isuofia Civic Centre from the President-General, Mr. Phildalic Okafor, alongside executive members, who appreciated the agency’s commitment to strengthening adult education programmes statewide.
Mrs. Ezenwaka explained the visit aimed to promote adult education, encourage lifelong learning, and expand vocational skills acquisition, empowering learners with practical knowledge for self-reliance, productivity, and meaningful community development.
She encouraged learners to remain committed throughout their educational journey, stressing that completing their studies and obtaining certificates would improve employment opportunities, personal development, and future socio-economic advancement across communities.

Speaking, Mr. Okafor revealed adult education commenced in Isuofia on September 17, 2024, operating through Ikeme, Amoji, and Central School centres, delivering remarkable educational and community development achievements successfully.

Dr. Uzo Okonkwo, highlighted inadequate facilitators as a major challenge affecting effective teaching, appealing for increased government intervention to sustain quality adult education programmes within Isuofia learning centres.

Responding, Mrs. Ezenwaka assured residents their concerns would receive attention through collaboration with Education Commissioner, Dr. Ekene Ogugua, while supporting Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s digital transformation agenda across Anambra State.
She reaffirmed government’s commitment to strengthening adult education through improved learning facilities, qualified facilitators, and sustainable empowerment initiatives, ensuring residents acquire knowledge and practical skills for lasting economic independence and development.
