Stakeholders in Ivite-Anam Autonomous Community, Anambra West Local Government Area, have adopted three strategic road infrastructure projects for inclusion in the 2027 budget, describing them as critical to improving connectivity and accelerating socio economic development in the area.
The decision was reached at a stakeholders’ meeting convened by the President-General of the community, Chief Sir Joe Onuorah Udoba, on July 25 to identify priority projects for government intervention.
The meeting brought together traditional rulers, community executives, women leaders, youth representatives and other stakeholders, who reviewed the community’s infrastructure needs and agreed on projects considered essential to its growth.
The projects adopted are the completion and tarring of the Abegbu Iyiora Road, construction of the Abegbu Mmiata Link Road, and the Ogene Bridge Umuenwelum Road.
The stakeholders said the projects would improve access within and around the community, strengthen inter community links, stimulate economic activities and enhance the living standards of residents.
They expressed optimism that the projects would receive favourable consideration for funding in the 2027 budget to ensure their timely execution.
Among those present were Chief Albert Ude Onyekwe, Chief Godwin Onyeaka, Chief Hyacinth Obugo, Chief Williams Chibuko, Chief Mike Ifeatu, Chief Cy Ofodile, Chief Chukwuemeka Augustine Nnachor, Mrs Lovelyn Okoye and Prof. Peter Obi Okonkwo, among others.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to unity, collaboration and active community participation, with stakeholders emphasising that consensus-driven leadership remains key to achieving sustainable development in Ivite-Anam.
