Former Transition Committee Chairman of Anambra West Local Government Area (LGA) and APGA flagbearer for Anambra West Constituency, Hon. Dr. Felix Ikechi, has congratulated Hon. Dr. Tony Obierike on his emergence as Mayor of Anambra West LGA.
Speaking with the Information Officer on Aug. 31, Ikechi described Obierike’s emergence as a significant moment for the people of Anambra West, expressing confidence that his administration would provide purposeful leadership and renewed momentum for development.
He urged the mayor-elect to make community development a priority by implementing projects and policies that directly address the needs of residents and improve their quality of life.
Ikechi stressed that effective local government administration should be people-centred, inclusive and responsive, particularly in areas such as infrastructure, healthcare, education, youth empowerment and security.
He called on Obierike to promote unity among the various communities and stakeholders, noting that collaboration and collective responsibility are essential for sustainable development.
The former LGA chairman commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for what he described as his vision and commitment to good governance, particularly his efforts to transform communities across Anambra State.
Ikechi expressed optimism that the incoming administration would build on existing achievements while exploring new opportunities to accelerate development in Anambra West.
He assured Obierike of his goodwill and support, appealing to the people of Anambra West to cooperate with the incoming administration, stressing that constructive partnership between the leadership and citizens would provide a stronger foundation for progress.
