The Vice President of the Ichi Development Union (Women Wing), Lagos Branch, Mrs. Chinyere Chukwudi, has extended her congratulations to Governor Chukwuma Soludo, on the occasion of his inauguration for a second term in office.
In an interview on Tuesday, Mrs. Chukwudi commended the governor’s efforts in transforming Anambra State, describing his first tenure as one defined by bold and decisive leadership. She highlighted the significant reforms and progress recorded across key sectors, including education, healthcare, security, and governance.
Mrs. Chukwudi, who also serves as a Culture Ambassador, praised the governor’s crackdown on fake native doctors and shrines allegedly linked to criminal activities and “quick wealth” practices. She noted that the demolition of such shrines and the arrest of suspects have helped address the root causes of crime in the state.
She further applauded the introduction of Operation Udo Ga-Achi and other security initiatives aimed at strengthening intelligence gathering and improving crime response across communities. However, she stressed that more efforts are still required, particularly at the grassroots level.
Looking ahead, Mrs. Chukwudi appealed for the prioritizing of youth empowerment programmes by creating more opportunities for young people. She emphasized the importance of skills acquisition and entrepreneurship training to promote self-reliance and reduce unemployment.
She also called for increased investment in infrastructure, especially in drainage systems and road networks, to enhance connectivity between communities and boost economic activities.
In addition, she advocated for sustained collaboration between the government, traditional institutions, and community leaders to ensure lasting peace and security.
Mrs. Chukwudi concluded by expressing her hope and prayers for a peaceful, secure, and prosperous Anambra State.
