‎The Anambra State Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Edward Ibuzo, has called on transport operators across the state to collaborate with the government in promoting road safety and building a more organised and efficient transportation system.
‎
‎Ibuzo made the appeal on October 14, during a mandatory stakeholders’ meeting held at the Ministry of Transport, Jerome Udoji Secretariat Complex, Awka.
‎
‎The meeting brought together representatives of mass transit companies and transport operators across the state to discuss key issues affecting the transportation sector and explore ways to improve its operations.
‎

‎The commissioner emphasised the importance of cooperation between the government and transport operators in ensuring safer roads, strengthening regulatory compliance, improving management practices and enhancing service delivery across Anambra State.
‎
‎He noted that the engagement was open to all transport companies, including those that had completed their registration with the ministry and those still undergoing the registration process.
‎
‎As part of the meeting’s requirements, each transport company was directed to send two representatives, comprising the owner and either the manager or secretary, in accordance with the ministry’s guidelines.
‎
‎The gathering also provided an opportunity for stakeholders to strengthen communication with the ministry, address challenges within the sector and promote shared responsibility for the development of the state’s transportation system.
‎
‎The commissioner’s appeal reflects the Anambra State Government’s commitment to improving road safety, enhancing transport services and ensuring a more orderly and efficient transportation sector for Ndi Anambra.
‎
‎The Ministry of Transport reaffirmed the importance of sustained engagement with industry stakeholders, noting that effective collaboration would be essential to achieving its goal of building a safer, more efficient and better-organised transportation system in the state.
