The Principal, Comprehensive Science and Technical College Nawfia Ven. Dr. Nnamdi Emendu, has applauded the Anambra State House of Assembly for successfully navigating through the rough waters of legislative procedures in the past three years.

Ven. Emendu in a press statement in Nawfia following the 8th Assembly’s successful celebration of their three years in office, wished them further success in their remaining days in office and beyond.

He asked for the passage of the bill for a law to make it mandatory that upon graduation, all secondary school leavers must have studied one trade subject or the other such as carpentry to arm themselves with requisite skills to add to their academic qualification.

The cleric also called for the house’s passage of the bill for a law to block students access while at school to some sensitive sites in their laptops such as pornographic activities.

The principal further suggested that a bill be passed to give more financial and other incentives to male principals and male teachers in secondary schools more than their female counterparts to encourage males to take up the teaching profession.

He lamented that the gap and ratio between male and female teachers in secondary schools in the state have greatly widened that one can hardly find male teachers or principals in any secondary school.

He emphasized that male teachers are mostly needed in boys secondary schools for the enforcement of discipline.

Ven. Emendu decried the negative influence the social media has on students and expects all relevant stakeholders in education to think out of the box on workable solutions to educate the students on the learning of one skill or the other.

He further commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his policy directed against fake pastors parading as miracle workers in the state.
