The Anambra State AIDS Control Agency (ANSACA) has called on passionate and community minded individuals to volunteer in its ongoing efforts to eliminate HIV as a public health threat in the state.
In a notice released on its Facebook page on June 23, the agency invited dedicated volunteers to contribute their time and skills to community health initiatives while gaining valuable experience in HIV prevention, testing, awareness creation, and support services.
According to ANSACA, the volunteer programme offers participants an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in their communities while developing practical knowledge in public health interventions.
Successful volunteers will receive training and certification in HIV Testing Services (HTS), equipping them with the skills needed to support HIV response activities across the state, gain hands-on experience in community mobilization and health advocacy, and serve as frontline ambassadors promoting healthy living and HIV awareness.
The agency noted that the initiative is part of broader efforts to increase community participation in the fight against HIV, reducing stigma, encouraging regular testing and improving access to preventive and treatment services.
Interested applicants are encouraged to register through the application portal before the deadline of July 31.
ANSACA urged residents to know their HIV status, stay healthy and help protect others by supporting efforts aimed at ending new HIV infections in Anambra State.
