The Mayor of Ekwusigo Local Government Area, Mr. Chimezie James Obi, has completed the renovation and rehabilitation of the Ekwusigo Council Legislative Chambers, restoring the facility to a modern and functional state after years of deterioration.
The legislative chambers, which had fallen into disrepair, have been comprehensively refurbished and tastefully furnished to provide a conducive environment for legislative proceedings and other official engagements of the council.
The upgraded facility is expected to enhance the effectiveness of the legislative arm of the local government by offering a befitting space for deliberations, lawmaking, and policy discussions aimed at promoting development across the council area.
Speaking on the significance of the project, the administration noted that the renovation underscores its commitment to strengthening democratic institutions and creating an enabling environment for good governance at the grassroots.
The rehabilitation of the chambers also aligns with the Mayor’s vision of improving public infrastructure and ensuring that government institutions are equipped to deliver efficient and people-oriented services.
Residents and stakeholders have described the project as another step towards repositioning Ekwusigo Local Government for sustainable development, expressing optimism that the improved legislative environment will foster greater collaboration between the executive and legislative arms of the council in advancing the welfare of the people.
