Sunday, April 6, marked Easter Day, a significant occasion in Christendom commemorating the resurrection of Jesus Christ after His sacrificial death for the redemption of mankind.
The celebration was observed with solemn Masses and joyful worship across churches worldwide.
At St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Inland Town, Onitsha, the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Francis Mary Udeaja, presided over a special Holy Mass to mark Easter Sunday and the conclusion of the Easter Triduum.
Delivering his homily, drawn from the Acts of the Apostles (10:34, 37–43), Colossians (3:1–4), and the Gospel of John (20:1–9), Rev. Fr. Udeaja reflected on the profound mystery of redemption and God’s boundless love in offering His only begotten Son for the salvation of humanity.
He urged the faithful to embody love in their daily lives and to build enduring legacies as true Christians redeemed by Christ.
The Parish Priest also commended parishioners for their devotion and commitment throughout the Lenten season and Holy Week, as well as their efforts in decorating the altar to reflect the solemnity and spiritual significance of each stage of the celebration.
