The Traditional Ruler of Enugwu-Ukwu, HRM Igwe Sir Ralph Ekpe(Okpalanaka Ukabia Umunri IV Eze Enugwu-Ukwu Na Igwe Umunri), has conferred on one of the illustrious sons of Enugwu-Ukwu, Dr.Tochukwu Mbachi, the prestigious chieftaincy title”Ayilinanya’ Enugwu-Ukwu Na Umunri’ alongside his wife Lady Ifeoma Mbachi who also bagged the chieftaincy title “Udoamaka Enugwu-Ukwu Na Umunri’.
The chieftaincy conferment ceremony took place at the 2026 Enugwu Ukwu “Igu aro’ festival presided over by Igwe Ekpe in Enugwu-Ukwu.
Speaking at the grand occasion, the royal father announced that the choice of Dr.Mbachi was in connection with his humanitarian services spanning some decades through the instrumentality of his “Beluchukwu hospital’ which has saved many lives and given succour to the less privileged and the indigent in the society.
Igwe Ekpeh urged him to sustain his good works, and to the wife, to key into the vanguard of assisting her spouse to give hope to the less privileged in the society.
At a grand reception, Chief Mbachi appreciated the honour given to him with great humility and pledged to sustain his humanitarian gestures to the less privileged in the society.
In a remark, the immediate past acting Vice Chancellor of Unizik Prof. Joseph Ikechebelu paid glowing tribute to Chief Mbachi for impacting greatly in the lives of the less privileged and humanity at large.
On his part, one of the recipients of a chieftaincy title from Igwe Ekpe, Ozonkpu Chief Godwin Anagor thanked the royal father for honouring him and his wife Chief Mrs Anagor, and used the forum to felicitate with Chief Mbachi and his wife Chief Lady Ifeoma for the honour bestowed on them.
A member of the Awka Capital Friends Club and former Head of Service of Anambra State, Chief Harry Udu saluted his president Chief Mbachi for being a worthy friend and for aptly bagging a chieftaincy title alongside his wife.
The occasion was graced by personalities of note such as Prof. Ken Nwogu,former Unizik Orator, his wife Dr. Uju Nwogu, Dr. Udoka Imagie, Nollywood actor Bob Manuel Udokwu, former Anambra State Chief Judge Prof. Peter Umeadi, Chief Mbachi’s CKC Old Boys Association Awka branch, relatives of the celebrants among others.
