The Deputy Registrar of Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Mrs Obiageli Josephine Okoye (née Nwosu), has been laid to rest in her hometown, Umueze village, Isuofia, in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The burial, which took place on Friday, March 27, 2026, attracted a large gathering of clergy, worshippers, academics, government officials, friends and well-wishers. The ceremony was conducted by Dominion City Church, Awka Region.

In a sermon titled “Life is a Trade,” the Resident Pastor of Dominion City, Agulu, Pastor Emmanuel Chukwu, urged Christians to live intentionally, noting that the period between birth and death should be purposeful and impactful. Citing Revelation 14:13–16 and Ecclesiastes 3:1–11, he described the deceased as a woman who lived a deliberate and exemplary life.

He emphasized that death is inevitable and warned that longevity does not equate to a meaningful life, stressing the need for individuals to discover their purpose and live in accordance with godly principles. He also reminded the congregation of the importance of faith in Jesus Christ as a pathway to eternal life.

Mrs Okoye, who served as Deputy Registrar of the Federal Polytechnic, Oko since 2017, is survived by her husband, children and other relatives.

In his tribute, her husband, Elder John Okoye, described her as a loving wife, dependable companion and a source of encouragement, noting that her presence brought significant transformation to his life and family.

Her first son, Kingsley Okoye, and his wife, Nneoma, described her as gentle, wise and selfless, while her second son, Daberechukwu, recalled her passion for evangelism and humanitarian outreach, including visits to hospitals and correctional facilities.

Also, her daughter, Lilian Okoye, described her as a Christ-like mother, known for her integrity, generosity and unconditional love.
