Chukwuemeka Clifford Okeke has on Oct 4 emerged as the Best Graduating Student of the Faculty of Law, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Awka after graduating with First Class Honours in Law.
Okeke’s outstanding academic performance earned him the third-highest CGPA ever recorded in the Faculty of Law, placing him among the institution’s exceptional academic achievers.
Beyond his academic accomplishments, Okeke distinguished himself through leadership and communication. He served as President of the Law Students’ Association of Nigeria (LAWSA), COOU, becoming only the second LAWSA president in the university’s history to graduate with First Class honours.
His academic journey was also complemented by his experience as a COOUNews Correspondent, where he developed his communication and storytelling skills under the mentorship of the university’s Public Relations Unit, led by Dr. Harrison Madubueze.
Through COOUNews, Okeke gained practical experience in responsible communication, factual reporting and presenting the university’s activities with clarity, accuracy and purpose.
The platform also provided him with an avenue to develop his writing and professional skills, contributing to his growth beyond the classroom.
His emergence as the fifth COOUNews Correspondent to graduate with First Class further highlights the platform’s record of producing academically outstanding students.
Okeke’s achievement reflects a combination of academic discipline, leadership, service and determination, from his contributions to COOUNews to his leadership of LAWSA and ultimately his emergence as the Faculty of Law’s best graduating student.
His feat stands as an inspiration to students of COOU and a testament to the possibilities that can emerge when talent, hard work and opportunity are combined.
