The Anambra State Commissioner for Power and Water Resources, Engr. Casmir Chinenye Agummadu, on June 16, embarked on an inspection tour of the Ogboji Injection Sub-Station project in Orumba South Local Government Area to assess the level of work completed on the strategic power infrastructure.
The Ogboji Injection Sub-Station is a critical electricity project designed to provide between 20 and 24 hours of uninterrupted power supply daily to the newly established Anambra Mixed Use Industrial City (AMIC), a key industrial and economic development hub in the state.

The project is expected to serve as a reliable power backbone for industries and investors operating within the Special Economic Zone, thereby enhancing productivity, encouraging industrial growth, and attracting new investments.
During the inspection, Engr. Agummadu expressed satisfaction with the progress of work, noting that major components of the project have been substantially completed.

According to him, the installation of electric poles, cable laying, and civil engineering works, including the construction of the control building and landscaping of the environment, have all been completed. He further confirmed that the 7.5MVA 33/11KV transformer designated to power the industrial grid has been successfully installed.
The commissioner explained that the transformer would adequately meet the current electricity demand of the industrial city, while provisions have been made for future expansion to accommodate increased power requirements arising from industrial growth, commercial activities, and population expansion within the area.

Engr. Agummadu reiterated the commitment of the Anambra State Government, under the leadership of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, to providing critical infrastructure that will stimulate economic growth, attract investments, and improve the quality of life of residents.
He described the Ogboji Injection Sub-Station as a legacy project that will accelerate urbanisation, boost industrial development, create employment opportunities, and position Anambra as a preferred destination for business, manufacturing, and innovation in Nigeria.
Upon completion and full operation, the project is expected to significantly enhance economic activities within the Anambra Mixed Use Industrial City and its surrounding communities, further advancing the state’s industrialisation agenda.
