‎The Anglican Diocese of Awka will on July 31, hold its first Solemn Assembly, marking the commencement of its statutory monthly El-Shaddai Prayer Programme across the diocese.
‎
‎
‎The programme is themed, “If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and will heal their land,” with the anchor text taken from 2 Chronicles 7:14.
‎
‎
‎The programme will be hosted by the Archbishop of the Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger and Lord Bishop of the Diocese of Awka, His Grace, the Most Rev. Alexander Chibuzo Ibezim, who will serve as the chief host.
‎
‎
‎Speaking ahead of the event, Archbishop Ibezim urged Christians and members of the public to attend with great expectations, assuring them that God will meet them at the point of their needs.
‎
‎
‎The Solemn Assembly will hold simultaneously at designated centres across the diocese. Worshippers in the Awka Zone will gather at the Cathedral Church of St. Faith, Awka, while those in Mgbakwu and Agulu zones will worship at the Parish Church of St. Stephen, Mgbakwu, and the Parish Church of St. Stephen, Agulu, respectively.
‎
‎
‎The programme will feature salvation messages, fervent prayers, healing, deliverance, breakthrough sessions, spiritual and physical empowerment, as well as other life-transforming ministrations. The diocese extended an open invitation to the public, encouraging everyone to participate and receive God’s blessings.
‎
‎
‎Special invitations have also been issued to members of the Diocesan Council of Knights and Ladies, Christian Men’s Fellowship, Mothers’ Union, Women’s Guild, Girls’ Guild, Anglican Boys’ Fellowship, Anglican Youth Fellowship, Anglican Children’s Ministry, Uniformed Organisations, choristers, business men and women, civil and public servants, artisans, transporters, and all members of the general public, particularly those who are encouraged not to neglect the gathering of believers.
