Stakeholders commended the Awba-Ofemili Development Union Health Committee for sustaining its community health awareness campaign.
The commendation came during the 2026 campaign at Awba-Ofemili Civic Centre.
Themed “Beyond Elu-Ulee: Building a Healthier Awba-Ofemili,” the programme focused on Buruli ulcer prevention.
Participants were urged to report unusual sores promptly and seek professional medical attention.

Religious leaders praised the committee’s consistency and growing community impact.
ADU President General Chukwunedu Mebene discouraged attributing illnesses to supernatural causes.
Ven. Rev Sam Asaa commended the committee for sustaining the awareness campaign since last year, he said it will impact more knowledge to the community.
The Nigerian Red Cross demonstrated First Aid after training 60 students and teachers on the Health awareness program.
Health officials encouraged screenings, healthy living and early treatment at the primary health centre.
The campaign featured counselling, referrals and preventive-health education for residents.
