The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, (ASUP) Federal Polytechnic Oko Chapter has commissioned its new Secretariat.
The Chapter Chairman, Barr. Fidelis Oduah, PhD said it is part of its campaigns promises to build the Secretariat to the stage of decking and has exceeded the target to complete the Secretariat for use.
He expressed appreciation to the Chapter Executive Council (CEC) and the entire Congress for their support which he attributed to the success of the Secretariat complex.
The Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie, who commissioned the project praised Barr. Oduah led administration for fulfilling the long awaited dream of an ASUP Secretariat by the Chapter.

She said that she is highly impressed with the administration for achieving what past administrations could not achieve.
The ASUP 2026 International (Hybrid) Conference themed “Recalibrating Polytechnic Education for Sustainable Development” followed at the Secretariat.

The lead paper presenters, Prof. Angela Nwammuo and Dr. Nkiruka Akabuike who presented papers on the theme and sub theme respectively charged the lecturers to embrace technology and see how to use their knowledge and expertise to solve practical problems in line with the aim of establishing Polytechnic education.

Attendees include the ASUP Zonal Coordinator, Polytechnic Principal Officers, Council members, Deans, Heads of Departments, lecturers, staff and confreres.
