The Executive Secretary of the Anambra State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (ASPHCDA), Dr. Chizoba Prisca Ezeasor, has felicitated with the First Lady of Anambra State, Dr. Nonye Soludo, on the visit of the First Lady of Nigeria, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, to the state for the official South-East launch of the National Community Food Bank (NCFB) Programme.
The programme was launched in Anambra on Sept. 10, as part of efforts to combat malnutrition and improve access to nutritious food for vulnerable individuals and households across the country.
The National Community Food Bank initiative is being implemented in collaboration with the Bank of Agriculture and the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, through the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA).
Dr. Ezeasor commended Dr. Nonye Soludo for her sustained commitment to improving the nutritional well-being of women and children in Anambra State, as well as her support for initiatives aimed at promoting healthier families and communities.
She also applauded the collaborative efforts of the Federal and Anambra State Governments towards strengthening food security, addressing malnutrition and supporting vulnerable members of society.
The ASPHCDA Executive Secretary expressed optimism that the National Community Food Bank Programme would make a significant impact in reducing malnutrition and improving the nutritional status of vulnerable populations, particularly children, pregnant women and lactating mothers in Anambra State, the South-East and beyond.
