The Anambra State Road Traffic Management Agency (ARTMA) has called on motorists and other road users to strictly observe traffic signals as part of efforts to enhance safety on roads across the state.

The reminder was conveyed in a message shared on the agency’s official Facebook page on July 9 where ARTMA emphasized the importance of compliance with traffic light regulations.

According to the agency, motorists should stop immediately when the traffic light turns red and proceed only when the light turns green.

ARTMA noted that adherence to traffic signals plays a crucial role in preventing avoidable road crashes, ensuring the orderly movement of vehicles at intersections and other busy roadways.

The agency added that compliance with traffic regulations helps protect motorists, passengers, pedestrians, and other road users from unnecessary risks and potential harm.

It stressed that responsible road use is a shared civic responsibility that requires discipline, patience, and respect for established traffic laws.

Motorists were advised to remain attentive while driving, avoid reckless behavior, and comply with all traffic control devices.

ARTMA reaffirmed its commitment to promoting road safety through public awareness campaigns, effective traffic management, and enforcement measures aimed at creating safer roads across Anambra State.
